Ni 100% blues, ni complètement rock, ni totalement folk... mais plutôt un peu de tout ça à la fois. C'est ainsi qu'on peut essayer de caractériser la musique de Jaypee-Jaypar, ce lyonnais d'adoption à la voix ténébreuse, difficile à rentrer dans une case.

Jaypee évolue entre deux eaux: l'une limpide, l'autre marécageuse. Tantôt dans des profondeurs telluriques d'un folk à la Léonard Cohen et tantôt dans les pics d'énergie d'un Tom Waits sous amphétamines, le tout est nuancé de rock musclé et de blues feutré. Toujours sur le fil du rasoir, ce grand écart est constant et à fleur de peau tannée tel le cuir d'un pachyderme.

Afin de réaliser son tout nouvel album (prévu pour janvier 2022), Jaypee s'est entouré de 4 acolytes (Marie Caparros au violoncelle, Rémi Dulaurier à la batterie, Fred Brousse à l'harmonica et Jean joly à la basse) pour l'accompagner et devenir ainsi JaCOB (pour Jaypee and the Cannibal Orgasmic Band).

Il s'agit là d'une manière d'enfoncer le pieux dans vos oreilles et de délivrer sa musique en pleine puissance. Là ou Jaypee envoie du bois, JaCOB dynamite, disperse et ventile."

JAYPEE-JAYPAR, or the story of a Pictavian guy exiled in Lyon's lands. That's the story of a son of Metal who, when he left his area in 2014 decided to trade his loud Gibsons for the sweet natural sound of acoustic guitars.

Then he started a work of introspection, a new way to approach music, as a one man band,resulting the release of 2 DIY albums in 2015 and 2016 ("On my Way" and "Sinner").

The identity of the artist guets refinded by the years to come to an acoustic raw blues rock folk, with deep and rough vocals somewhere between Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen.

From opened stages to home shows, he built his style at the same rythm than his will to live completly by his music. So outcomes the recording of “Meet me again” at the end of the year 2018, released at te end of 2019 by his own label GREY CAT RECORDS.

That’s obvious: JAYPEE-JAYPAR plays blues, but not only. He doesn’t confines to the 12 bars of the Mississipy Delta, and doesn’t waver to taint his  compositions with influences as varied as his own musical tastes : there’s sometimes the Metal and Rock energy obviously dued to his past, but as well wistful folk touches with a new wind blowing the standards.His lyrics relate his mood, without any pretention. He sings joy, pain, love hate, death… simply life.
